Wheel Well Cleaning

Like the underbody, the wheel wells are unique to each car. They may have been undercoated, or the suspension components protected from the factory with cosmoline. They may be covered in road tar and dirt. Whatever the case may be we can clean them.

First, we inspect the wheel wells and discuss the goals and expectations of the dry ice cleaning. We’ll make suggestions, point out unique features and areas of concern and answer any questions you might have.

Inspection

We start by safely putting your vehicle up on our lift and remove the wheels by hand for an inspection. This gives us a full view to evaluate the wheel wells. We can talk about the dry ice process and techniques used and the expected results for your car. Here a list of typical things we can discuss:

– Undercoatings - and whether to remove them

– How we preserve factory stickers and markings

– Brake calipers, lines, hub and knuckle assemblies

– Struts and coil springs

– Control arms and other suspension components

– Steering components

– Wheel well linings and whether or not to remove them for more access to clean additional areas

Cleaning Process

Prior to cleaning we'll take photos to document the "before" cleaning. From here the dry ice process begins using the appropriate particle size, volume and pressure that safely removes the tar, road grime and brake dust from the complex suspension/brake system surfaces and wheel wells. We'll text you with any updates that we think you should be aware of. As the cleaning progresses, we continually evaluate our efficiency to stay on track with the agreed goals and budget. Upon completion, we take another set of "after" photos showing the positively transformative results. We'll finish by remounting the wheels and retorquing the wheel lugs to spec.
